Morning all, my eyes can't see what is written on this, but doesn't look like a H7 to me!! Is it an H4?

Lots of choices out there Osrams are highly rated but you can buy cheaper ones. I could not see the writing on your pic but look the same as mine. If you high beams have the same shape as those they will be HB3

Followed a recent thread elsewhere regarding headlight bulbs found out from there that some cars were fitted wit H7 but a lot of others were fitted with HB3 and HB4 bulbs. Bulb size was moulded in the headlight lens as a clue. Apparently, somewhere between August 1999 and March 2000 the decision was made by BMW to convert to H7 bulbs for low beam.

hmmmm not too sure about that as mines a 2002 model and uses HB3 and HB4s

Yes mine is a December 99 build and has HB3 HB4 bulbs as well so the change dates to H7 may well be later than they surmised on the other thread if yours was 2002 build. Might be down to country of use where the difference is?
