In the early 80's we did not get survival suits if our flight was 1 hour or under to the rig.

Mike, when I was a kid visiting my Grand parents in Minnis Bay, a twin engine one came down on the beach there as well.
They obviously did not deploy the landing gear and the props were knackered but everyone got out safe.
