They have automatic doors that open remotely every morning at the same time after they've eat their breakfast
Butlins for chickens? =))

Just an operational point. How do you get 32,000 chickens to go to bed at night?

Strange as it may sound chickens do have a routine and they naturally roost at night .and the light in the shed is controlled remotely to gradually come on in the morning like an artificial dawn it changes from a mild red to a brighter white and in the evening they have tiers that they can climb up on as the lights that are set low go out and gradually fade upwards, the strongest chickens occupy the top tier about 7ft high and the lesser ones on lower tiers “pecking order” they have to work that out for themselves lol

Are your chickens for eating or purely laying?

Sounds very technical and organised. Can you get it to work on teenage boys and young men?

Impressive setup! How long do chickens usually lay for? And what happens to them after they stop laying? I've always assumed they are sold for meat processing for animal feed etc.

Chickens can lay for years ,we’ve had chickens here from a commercial farm and they will live and produce eggs for a long time but ours will come to us a couple of weeks before they start laying and they gradually come into production over the next 6 weeks if they are well fed healthy and contented, they start laying small eggs and as they mature the eggs get larger. After 18 months they start laying less frequently and they are headed for the human food chain . Feathers-pillows,beaks and feet to China nothing goes to waste. Most chicken you buy in the supermarket is 8weeks old ours are old girls :( .The EU bans the use chicken litter (poop)and chicken in animal feed where it’s allowed in the good old USA ,check where your meat comes from
