License plate

Here in Texas we are required to have license plates front and aft. Our plates are a bit shorter than euro plates and the holes to mount the front plate do not line up. Presently , my plate ssf its on the dashboard, visible thru the windshield. Technically illegal one of the local police said, but not really an issue. I'm trying to come up with a way to make a mount that fits to which I can attach the plate. Any suggestions? I really don't want to drill new holes in the front...

I’m guessing, like here it doesn’t need to be mounted centrally? You can buy mountings that locate the plate to the left hand side of the bumper like some continental European cars had back in the day.

Mine are all held on with double-sided tape, not fallen off yet.
Look on the internet @DelGue :p
You can buy double sided pads which you attach to your plate and then put the plate on your Z , Alan has them on his car :)
They don’t even mark the car when you take them off ;)
We had the pads on our black Z for 9 years until we sold it 4 weeks ago , and they were quite hard to remove, which was a good thing :)

So, I did some research, and it appears 3M makes the strongest double side tape. The good news is the local Autozone store carries it in stock. Thanks again!
