Let's see your Pets!

So very sorry to read this Dave. Our pets are our friends in furry coats and I know from experience how devastating their going is.

My Spaniel Woody only has a few weeks left due to Cancer. He's only 8 and I'm dreading the day. View attachment 122213
So sorry to hear this Dave. Heartbreaking but concentrate on the good times. There really is nothing else like the relationship between a man and his dog (Sounds soppy, but I don’t care!)

Our eldest boy is a dog handler with RAF military police and he has recently lost his dog. He was a Belgian Malinois only 8yrs old. James said he was the fastest, strongest dog in the group but he was a bit too "enthusiastic". The vet recommended they neuter him to calm him down. He had the operation but he died from heart failure whilst in the recovery room. He was buried with military honours and James dug his grave. We have some lovely photos but as he was a serving military dog we've been told we can't put them online, but this is a pic of a Malinois just like our boys dog

That's a sad story mate.:(

Tony.

Feel for you Dave @Grumps its always a sad day when it happens as like said already all our pets are in one way or another family members which compared to ours have a short life never easy leaves an empty space in your home .:(
But this thread is testament by the many pictures of the joy and happiness :)( and stress  like when you come home from work to find your maine coon has decided to be sick on the living room carpet) that our dog and cats ( and other creatures) bring to our lives .
Stephen.

Read your other post...yes...fur balls the size of rodents when mine decides to be sick. But don’t you just love the big devils?

This is Nudge. I'm more than happy to say he is a massive idiot but I wouldn't change him for the world.
Nudge is an ex racer who went by the name of Mustang Budgie (if you Google his name you'll find some info on him and clips of his races). He is Irish (he has tattoos in both of his ear which annotates this).
We took him in from Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust as he had been there for quite a while and had always been a 2nd choice. His reaction when he first saw him was enough to know he was a character. Since then he has been the source of a lot of laughter and happiness.
Oh and boy can he run!

I love a greyhound. Have several friends that have them.

View attachment 122375 This is Bertie our fox red working Cocker he's 18 months old now and has been a real pleasure. Some of you may have met him on a few Zed runs. He enjoys meeting other dogs especially if they are bigger than him, he can run too and really likes chasing deer, not caught up with one yet, but when he sees one he is determined and quite difficult to recall. The first picture is him in the Peak District last weekend.

He's a lovely boy, met him twice now, they are just the best breed.

These are generally very good natured dogs Chris. It’s nice to hear that he has a good home after his racing days were over. Sadly not all Grewie hounds are so lucky. Local name for them.

Tony.

Yes he is the softest and most gentle dog. They are extremely placid and incredibly lazy (so we get on very well). A fantastic companion for anybody really.

This is Isabelle, she'll be a year old tomorrow. She loves being in the Z, top down!

She's a fox-red labrador, she's fantastic, very easy to train and we've been working with her to get her to do field-trials, so she's a working girl!
