Blue-footed boobies are aptly named, and males take great pride in their fabulous blue feet. During mating rituals, male birds show off their feet to the females. The bluer the feet, the more attractive the mate.

I was looking at having mine wrapped initially but albeit it was cheaper, there wasn't enough of a difference for me not to have it painted.
