LED lights

LED interior lights transform the inside of the cabin at dark, I also fitted them in the footwell lights in my 4. The boot light was absolutely useless so I fitted some LED strips I bought in Florida, now I can find things in the boot.

b***** wish I had asked on here first I have just ordered LEDs for everything except the headlights (already have the LEDs in the front sides, so my indicators wont work plug and play then?
You have them on your bumper indicators don't you? That's all I want for my car.

No they won't Niall, but it is an easy work round either Tim's way or the way I did it. If you want to go with individual ballasts check my "My Z4 my way" thread for when I modified my rear lights.

For the front bumper side marker lights you can just swap them out for LED type bulbs.

Halfords tomorrow it is then
I would look on eBay before going there Simon. If you want bright ones SMD led's are the ones. I can give you a link tomorrow ?
Tony.

Thanks Tony, that's very kind. I don't use. eBay or have an account - hence the Halfords route.
I may have some or I'll get you some and post them if you like. Lots of stuff on eBay, you ought to give it a go mate. I'll see what I've got tomorrow.

Nope they'll hyper flash the standard flasher unit is a thermal one needs the 42w power draw to flash correct speed ( hence when one blows it flashes fast) when you fit led they have low draw so flasher unit thinks bulbs blown .
Only couple of solution deal with the flasher unit or fit load resistors to each of the main indicators (not side repeater)
Dont buy a 3 pin led electronic flasher unit theg dont fit z3 has 7 if memory serves this was why i decided to fit resistors at the bulbs (creates the load where it originally was ) then I wasn't going to mess up the electrics.
What sort of leds have you bought @Nodzed

@Dino D this is what i have in the front/rear indicators, (amber ones) brake and rear fog lamps (red ones) and reverse ( white ones) ive used tbe 50w cree led as the brightness is just about right you can buy 80w versions but i think they'd be too bright in the z3 small light units. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311452377422
My side repeators are amber cob led same style as the ones in the link on post 31 but i had to order them from china as nobody seemed to do amber ones white red blue etc no prob but no amber I'll look up the guy i got them from and post a link the interior and boot lamp are 2 different size links for them are in my how to guide -footwell lighting

@Dino D sorry also meant to say the red amber and white 50w led are all around 29.99 a pair off everyone at the moment you need to keep an eye on them you see them on special at 14.99 all the time thats when to buy ( make sure a uk seller)

In the bin probably.....;)
I know what to buy now only after trial and error sometimes .
Ordered stop/tail cree led to modify so only tail would illuminate put them in the zed and they were like brake lights :( so I've ordered a lower output cob led if im happy with them fitted i will share the link
And if not i will file them under b1n
