As you might know I've got my new 2.8.... I want to fit LED's to the front indicators and rear number plate - any advice from folks on here?

Thanks in advance.

Also get LED festoons for the inside of car and boot, makes lots of difference, you can also do your front side lights, I don't really see the point in LED indicators but each to their own of course.

You can't juts put LED lights into the indicators as they will flash too fast. Plus you need prwtty decent Led's to make them visible.

I've done it and have modified my indicator relay to make this work.

I can modify one for you too if you want led indicators

The bulbs I used for the front indicators were about £15

I changed my indicator lamps to chrome so now there's no orange behind the clear lens

It does but I still need to do my rears and side indicators, I must get them ordered.
My headlight indicators are chrome but I have also changed the side indicators to chrome.

Oh good i like led talk :).
Im out just now but be home in an hour or so this deserves some pictures too:snaphappy:.
I have very little ordinary bulbs left nearly my entire car converted :bag:. =))

What can i say but i like led's but they have to be of a good standard with the right ones you can achieve a modern lighting look without being detrimental to the car.

in all the pictures all the lights bar the rear sidelights ( i am waiting for another set of led to arrive for these last ones a bit bright) and the dip beam as i could not get a good enough beam pattern on dip main beam are led ( the headlight insert picture shows ked main standard halogen 9006 in dip main picture is current set up of led main and osram nightbreaker unlimited in dip) all bulbs straight fit into holders only problem is hyper flash on indicators a modified flasher would be good as mine have individual resistors to create the load

all i need to do now is de-tango the lights to properly show off the led

I used the individual ballast on the indicators on my Z3 and when I fitted them on my Z4 Steve. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but they're easy to wire in and if you fasten them securely to the body it acts as a heat sink and keeps them cooler. Led in the reversing lights on the Z4 are a straight swap, front sidelights needed a ballast because of the canbus but I used plug and play in-line ones for those.

Those like nice and warm but much brighter, I like the period warm look.
Can you post up which bulbs they are and from where? I only ever see bright white/blue colors.
