My top of the range M44 had 2..3..4 never used them, as I did not have to tow a caravan up a mountain, kick down is your friend..

Kick down in sport is better though Mike especially in a 3.0.............................................. Glad I work at a tyre house!

It had sport mode Tony, the only thing that does is shorten the gear change time.

Yeah, my Z3 does too, it hangs on to the last gear right up to the redline before it changes up. I love an Auto with enough power to drive one.

But Tony, you have a steptronic box with seven gears in it. It doesn't have to be in auto all the time.
