Hi. Trying to ascertain if I have the last right hand drive 3.0i Roadster built. It was produced on the 25th of June 2002 3 days before production ended. Contacted the factory and also the company museum their response "Sorry we don't have any record". Any help most appreciated.

If you look here you will find an interesting table.

http://www.onlyz3.com/en/prod_all.html

It will show you the chassis number ranges for each variant of Z3. A variant being Roadster or Coupe, Engine Size, Transmission, Market (USA or EUROPE), LHD or RHD.

So for each of these variants you will be able to see how close to the end of the chassis number range you are. Which you can probably fairly assume was issued in serial order.

But what you probably won't ever find out is even if you are the last number in that range, where you fall across all ranges/variants.

I have one of the last 25 3.0 RHD manuals produced. Kind of interesting but ultimately it will change nothing!

There's no records of production by colour as far as I'm aware. Not for non-Ms anyway.

My 2.2 Sport was built within a few hours of yours. I can't recall the actual day but it was in the final 72 hours of production AFAIK

Thats interesting. There were 143 Imola Red 2 S50 Ms with Imola leather produced but only 30 Titanium Silver S50 Ms with Imola leather. That makes Willow a relatively rare M and my Imola as common as muck (relatively speaking ;))

There is a note on that page that not all numbers were allocated in a range and it uses the example of Ms.

Non Ms we might be more confident about I guess as the selling and production was more industrialised/routine. But can't even be sure of that.

17th June 2002, here. You could try contacting BMW Classic and see if they can help.
