My question on the average speed camera's is how is it calculated?
If you have A-B-C-D cameras
Does it take your average between A-B,B-C,C-D or A-D average
So if you speed in zone 1 but then average below in zone 2&3, do you get a ticket? Or does it give you a ticket for zone 1?

I believe each section is treated separately, to cope with leavers and joiners on junctions within the controlled area.

Seems these days the average speed cameras are the most obeyed on the roads?

And that's probably the "fear factor" at work because no one knows how they work?

As I'm aware, they work in pairs - so calculating speed between a pair of cameras.
Could be come too complex over the whole course of them, when there are multiple areas of joining/leaving ability - but haven't tested this.
If anyone wishes to and post up their findings that would be great

I'll stick to better roads, with less traffic and no cameras

I actually like average speed cameras. Set the speed on cruise (speed hold as the Germans call it) and relax. Stops much of the hassle on crowded motorways. The impact on journey time is neglible. Spirited driving can take place elsewhere.

Pretty much the same here in LIncs mate, especially near the Skeg Vegas coast, but also locally too. Now we have dark nights and cold wet days to savour .
