Keeping out of mischief.

The locks for the side hung doors came this morning so that was this afternoon's job. Just finished.

These are operated from outside.

Also the window film arrived so I can get the different sized pieces cut up. 8 for the windows in the doors, 3 for the non opening windows and 1 for the opener. Then, if it's not too wintry next week I'll get that done.

Aren’t you glad you retired......=))

I like the parts washer.....looks brand new now.

so now lets see..
when you were at work all day and the house was empty, the standard locks were ok
Now you are at home all day long, you turn it into fort knox.

are you afraid of someone stealing your rocking chair or mobility scooter?
......with you still in it?

Sounds like someone I know with CCTV and extra security. Talking from experience I suppose.

It’s one job I’ll be doing to our front door. I had the Euro lock fail on the back door and seen that it was a cheaper one very easily broken. Pros can be in a property in less than 20 seconds.

We had that happen Mark. I got up to go to work one day and noticed Shirl's bunch of keys hanging at a strange angle in the kitchen door lock. My first thought (daft I know) was the weight of the keys had broken something. I went out the front door and as I walked round the end of the bungalow I noticed that the gate into the field was open, and wedged open with a brick. Next I saw that the conservatory door was also opened back to the house wall and wedged open with a flower pot!
By now I was realising that someone had attempted a break in during the night, it was only the fact that Shirl's bunch of keys weighed a ton that stopped these ******** from getting inside our home as it jammed the "snapped" lock assembly from being pushed through allowing the lock to be turned.
The previous evening I had been at a darts match and a BBC programme had literally showed how simple it was to break these locks and consequently several homes in our village and the next had been broken into or at least attempted. We had all of ours replaced with Stainless Steel locks, expensive but secure.

Got the window film measured and cut up last night. Started this morning sorting out my tools and getting my toolbox in it's best position to be out of the way (mostly) and prepping my "home" kit for sale.
This afternoon I got one of the doors windows (4) filmed and the one opening window. I hope to finish this tomorrow (the other door and 3 windows) and package up a load of 3rd. brake light decals and get to the post office.
Then after tea it's beer and Pool!

If you keep this pace up with your job list Tony, you'll have nothing left to do in your retirement; bearing in mind that it's not been a full month since you retired.

Hi Tony,
I had to have a little chuckle when I saw your cleaning tank. We had one in our workshop (obviously!) and a guy used to come around every so often to change and replace the fluid. But I always wondered.... If It's cleaning fluid, why does it get dirty:confused:!
