As we’re all mentioning temperatures, if you keep cans of drinks in you car they will distort around -6C, beyond -8 or -9 they’ll burst. There is enough pressure to spray liquid out the burst which instantly freezes. You’ll open the car wondering why there are strings of confetti hanging from the roof.

yes, I do know thisfrom experience!!

Told my grandsons about this, and as we are home schooling them, we decided to make this a science project. They buried a can in the snow and left it over night, next morning dug it out and the can looked like someone had tried to crush the can ! Didn't have a thermometer capable of reading below zero degrees, just glad the can wasn't in the car. Thanks for the heads up

Another science lecture, have them put my postcode into accuweather or similar in the morn.
PH13FE
Then have them put my work code in
G23JZ
Only 60 miles but there will be a 5-7C difference.
my personal record is 17 degree difference, left home -8C, arrived in Glasgow to +7C. I have to keep a selection of jackets in the car otherwise I’d melt on the walk to work.

Spoken like a true Scot- you don’t say how cold you’ll be at - 8 but how hot you’ll be at +7 🤪

Yep!
"There's no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing" Attrib to Billy Connolly, but I'm sure I heard it in the 60's as a kid.

"A Scottish suntan, you go blue" I'm sure that is Connolly

And I would never be cold at -8, my gear I'm still toasty at the -17 we had last week.:)
