Was it a special night for Hedgehogs last night? On a 36 mile round trip to pick the grandson this morning I counted 5 of them added to the road surface.

Must have been Craig, they were too drunk to be able to see the traffic. :D

That’s a real shame, they’re getting rare and endangered. It’s ages since I saw a dead one, (you used to see loads) and at least 15 yrs since I saw a live one. By coincidence I think I saw 2 flattened ones this morning between Shrewsbury & Abergavenny (might have been squashed pheasants-not a lot left)
Just a general observation - don’t want to derail this into a ‘conservation’ thread. Far too p*****ly a subject. :-)

Still often see them last thing at night as I walk the dog. Not as many as there used to be for sure.

Nobody has yet mentioned cuddly little bunny rabbits. Sadly they too have a death wish :(
 
That's why there has never been a punch line to the joke .Why did the hedgehog cross the road ?
 
My son had a coming together with a pigeon a couple of days ago in a new Skoda Octavia which broke the cars radiator grill, which is the only damage. Main dealer and independent body shop confirmed whole bumper has to be replaced at circa £800.00. The pigeons health was not mentioned.:whistle:
