Quick intro....
I'm Steve from Danbury in Essex. This is the car my wife runs daily - although we frequently swap vehicles according to her requirements (bit more luggage space in the X5!) A 2.2 bought in 2015 with low mileage - still only 47k on the clock. Never had to do anything to it apart from routine servicing, tyres and a new battery but I have decided to relocate the soft top motor and will be tackling that job very soon. Can't go without a topless drive - I particularly love a bright winter's day (snow on the ground optional) and grabbing all that fresh air with the top down! I was introduced to BMW engines when I bought a Rover 75 Tourer..... been a fan ever since!
I've always been hands-on regarding service and repairs to my vehicles although at 65 I now pass the odd tedious job to my local trusted indy. Forums such as this one have benefitted me immensely in recent years and I like to share any information that may be of use to others. Looking forward to some interesting reading - and the odd bit of banter!
