Heard strange noise which woke us up at 12.15am last night that sounded like a large load of bricks being tipped out from a great height onto a path of. Startled my wife looked out of the bedroom window to see to her surprise a herd of black & white cows charging passed all in the garden, which we have on three sides. Looking this morning what a mess of churned up grass and flatten plants broken pots that have been knocked over. Ours was not the only garden, but we have now found out where they escaped from and the farmer has agree to put things right.

The nearest pub is a mile or two away, still waiting to talk to the farmer who has said via a third party that he will sort it and I will make sure that he does as I open my garden every year and all three lawn areas are ruined and some beds trampled over. A lot of hard work to put it straight.

Well, Bad ///Boy does not live any where near you, so that rules that one out, one would think?...;)

That's not good. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Trust the Zed and TR were unscathed!

No they are OK as tucked up in garage but our other car was out and is also ok just a big mess all over. At least one other neighbour had his new garden wrecked and another farmer has had a lot of winter wheat wrecked . No doubt I will find out how they got out but that is the joy of living in the country

Not at all funny seeing all your hard work ruined. Things are so wet it won't take much to churn everything to a quagmire.
However, if it's a way to get your garden made over, then.....

Thanks chaps
garden was in good shape as we open once a year, and good news the farmer has made contact and said that the NFU will be in touch to sort it out to my satisfaction, so at least that's good and may be back to normal for August, lets hope.

HAVE A VERY GOOD CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL AND SHOULD BE ON AGAIN WITH THE z3 THAT DOES NOT GO OVER 40mph AND PICS OF My LIGHT WALNUT CONSOL/DASH/DOOR ITEMS.

KIND REGARDS

Geoff

We had a similar issue many years ago, accross the road a local riding school kept some of their horses and one night they got out onto the road. The local plod coralled them into our front garden to contain them till the riding school fetched them. Plod said they were not responsible as all the did was keep the road safe, riding school said they were not responsible, it was the plod's fault for sending the horses into our garden. End result?, tough s*** Tony, sort it out yourself.:(:(:(

Tony.

Hi Tony
I have checked with my insurance and am covered but the farmer has now made contact and said that the NFU will be in touch to sort it.
Have a good Christmas

Geoff

You too Geoff. Look forward to trying to help sort 40 mph Z3. Good luck with restoring your garden mate.

Tony.

I would have taken or threatened a private prosection against the riding school for allowing the horses to escape. They failed their duty of care to the public and as a result, you suffered loss. Had that not happened there would have been no incident. They were responsible for the initial issue if not the consequences. That and charging rent for the use of your garden arranged by their agent. Some adverse publicity would have prompted then to get it sorted. If their insurance wouldn't cover that I'd suggest that users of their school were likely to be inadequately covered.

Your quite right Ian, but as I said this was many years ago soon after we got married (early 80's) and I was a lot more easy going then. Ce la vie.!:)

Could have made dog food =))

Nothing wrong with horse stake, the best bit is from the neck and is better than an Angus steak.
