Well what can I say, Tony and Shirl, what a superb day you'd organised. What lovely people you both are, the Z cup cakes were delicious so a big  Abbie.
Weather was kind to us all day, the sun shone and it was warm enough.
The steak pot pie was a dream, true pub grub at its best.
I was awarded my "second to last" photo of the month competition prize sponsored by Tony which was a wonderful Grumpy sticker which next time you see my car will have pride of place on the boot!
Thanks again Tony and let's do it again next year!
Right the next chapter has to be to a genuinely lovely guy known as "Miller" or Hugh. What a smashing bloke. Never met the guy in my life and turned up with a plaque he made specially for me. Hugh, it will take pride of place in my carport in the next couple of days. Picture will follow.
Thank you so much it's great!

Chapter no3.
The day just got better when Hugh introduced himself and his friend "Frankie". Hello mate how you doing I said to the guy introduced as Frankie? Fine thanks was the reply, I then turned and carried on talking to Hugh.....the penny drops "FRANKIE!!!!!!!!!!" OMG!!!! What an absolute legend this man is, such a gentle kind fellow, I spent time with Frankie on 3 or more occasions through the day and felt like I'd no known him for years. Frankie you're a gent and if I'm ever over the USA I'd love to look you up.

And finally the usual stuff. Lovely to see the regular faces and meet yet some more new ones. They just keep on coming @GazHyde , if it wasn't for you mate none of this would be possible so a big thank you for all your hard work!
More pics of the day.

It's a pleasure my dear chap :D

You would not believe what us in the know about @FRANKIE coming over have been through. The almost final collapse was Frankie skyping me Thursday evening, saying his flights were messed up. He thought he was supposed to be leaving on Friday, but he actually needed to be on the plane in 3 hours and the airport is an hour from him! I'm just glad @miller1098 managed to find him eventually when he got to the UK.

I can't wait to catch up with him in a few days time, it's gonna be awesome to catch up.

Great pics Grumpy and write up too - think it was summed up nicely.

Thanks for having me again, great company - nice to catch up with folks I'd met before and to meet others too.

Enjoyed chatting to Frankie, wish it had been longer - what a journey. Folks seemed to have made some epic trips to be here.

There's a certain camaraderie that exists in car clubs like these, and it seems the make/model doesn't really matter its people having a common interest in Motas, and I felt most welcome.

Thanks, Tony and Shirl for organising.

Firstly a HUGE thank you to Paul, Julie and the staff at the White Swan for feeding the hungry masses with which I'm sure all will agree was some of the best home cooked food you could wish for.
Secondly, to all who came to a sunny Torksey Lock, thank you for making it a special day on a gloriously sunny afternoon, it couldn't have been better.
Thirdly, WOW, what can I say, I met Frankie today, and in my own back yard. If you ever needed a definition of a gentleman. he is the epitome of a gentleman. Frankie it was a real PLEASURE to meet you my friend. When/if you get back over here or in Florida, our house is your house.

Also, finally great to catch up with Dave @Grumpy and Jue, lovely folks.
022.jpg

So this is why a boot rack is fitted that way round then.
017.jpg

My pleasure to chauffeur Frankie across to Lockland Lake field for some pictures of the cars, and cup cakes made by Shirl and Abz.

Looking like this could become an annual feast, Julie said in hindsight get Tony to have food orders ready for us. I can do that.

Thanks again everyone for making this a great day.

Tony and Shirley.

Couldn't agree more Toby. I've said before I've never come across camaraderie as I find on this forum. Such a cracking bunch of people. We always look forward to days out with the troops, be it a cruise or a static meet, and theres always people willing to go the extra mile. Keep it up everyone!!

Thanks for the kind words, grumpy. I didn't, find you grumpy at all!!! It was a pleasure meeting you and talking to you as it was to all the forum members. What a superb day!!! The weaTher was remarkable. It was SO GOOD to see Miller and Mark and Mike and Sandy and Mint and BMBabe, with a big hug, and all the others. If it were necessary to get on the plane now and go home, it would have been WELL WORTH IT. I got to sit in Panther. I saw Mike,s and Tony,s new cars, took some vids with the phone that will post when home, ate steak and ale pie and ended hugging a lot of people. GAz and Miller and Pgunter and Hard top kept their mouth,s shut for WEEKS'!!' Special thanks to Hugh and Sarah for their help and extra driving. And by the way,I didn't come close to killing anyone with the car this time. Notice the flag next to my avatar? Will post more later. Want to sit back and reflect on one of the nicest days of my life. My special thanks to T tony for getting this together. I was asked why I picked this event to come over by a forum member, and I. Replied that I had a high regard and great deal of respect for T tony as he is always giving advice and help to so many members. I therefore decided it was his meet I wanted to attend. Just the best way I could think of to show how much I respect him. FRANKIE

@FRANKIE your very welcome, so pleased you decided to attend. I was probing you and @t-tony about how far apart your places in America were as we're in the very early possible stages of renting Tonys place with some friends for our for 2017 summer break and if we were close enough would have loved to visit you while we were there. 1200 miles would be a little far tho. :(

Thank you Tony and Shirl for what turned out to be a great meet up, the venue was well chosen and the steak pie everything you said it would be, all Zs were immaculately turned out and we even got some waves from the locals when on the run to Torsky Lock, star of the event was obviously Frankie and I had the pleasure of his company next to me at dinner, what a lovely gent as has been said and one hell of a conversationist, thanks @FRANKIE for a most enjoyable conversation at dinner, someone not forgotten in a hurry. Hope you enjoyed yourself, I certainly enjoyed your company at dinner.
Got home ok with the damaged front N/S wheel holding up quite well at 60-65mph (just half of my normal speed though =))), but took over 2.5hrs, didn't ruin my day though I'm just a bit annoyed at my lack of concentration. Rha, Roy.
