Doesn't seem like eighteen years ago that I entered the Gran Fondo Campagnolo Internazionale in the Dolomites, Italy. 208 k race through the mountains with three climbs of around 1500 metres and the mighty Manghen in the middle at 2047 metres. It was a tiring day out! Hot sun a lot of the time, snow at the top of the Passe de Rollo. My bike by the monument to Campagnolo at the top of the Crouce D'Aune.I stayed at the Hotel nearby. He is said to have invented the front derailleur while riding up it.Took the photo 'quickly' looking down the Manghen when I reached the top.
