This weekend has me remembering the past.

1977 jubilee.

i was attending a street party aged 8.

good times.

can anyone else remember that year?

what were you doing? (thats if you were born!)

I dont remember much, i was just born :beer

Remember seeing a great street party in Newport. ;)
 
I spoke to the Queen when she visited Ely that year, She stopped and asked me if I lived in Ely. I was so taken aback that I lied, saying Yes I did, a
beheading offence in days off old!!!! ;)

During that visit, Mike's sister, Marie officially presented the Queen with a bouquet of flowers, at the time that she was planting a memorial tree at the Maltings near the river. ^:)^

All seems a long time ago now. :(

Best thing about 1977, apart from the uk was a nice place to live, (xmas not commercial, shops closed on a sunday, no mobiles, not as many disrespectful teenagers etc) was the release os Star wars :D :D :D.

I remember seeing it at the cinema on the day it was released in may 1977.

see it about 60 times since!

I was was nearly 2 so don't remember it at all :D
