If we all had foresight and hindsight we would probably not ever do much at all mate. A guy I worked with a few years ago was on his 4th (I think) wife and he emigrated to NZ and has since moved up to Queensland in OZ. The Leicester FC. exploits always going to be hard act to follow!:)

Tony.

Hi Gaz,my name is Alan Chapman, I prefer to be called CHAPPO, I’ve just turned 68; I retired 9 years ago & spend most of my time child minding &baby sitting Grandchildren (reality wish I could go work) tinkering & spending most of my pension on my Z3 that’s a 2000 2ltr Titan silver with blue leather interior.( I will post a photo when I learn how). Cheers. CHAPPO

Hi Frankie thanks for the welcome. Sorry, but I’m absolutely knackered due to looking after 2 of my Grandkids yesterday. When I could have been putting new Sills on my Z (dream on) someone said to me once “when you retire your life’s your own! WHAT A CROCK OF S**T . anyway I’ll go and get a bit more shuteye as I’ve got to collect my Granddaughter from school. IT NEVER ENDS.
The best thing about owning aZ3 is you can only take one G/kid at a time. The worst thing is if my Kids bring them round I have to wait for them to be extracted (a bit like a Dentist when he pulls a bad tooth the pain goes instantly)
Love em to bits really. Bye for now. Chappo

Hi @Chappo and it sounds as if the grandkids keep you active. There are a few of us from Leicestershire . Any problems or queries shout up but not much help with grandkids though.

I took the sills off ours last year and cleans all the silt out. Not too bad a job but if you want some help shout up.

How long a job is it Brian? And I suppose the worst job is removing and refitting the wheel-arch liners.

Yes the rear liners are the hardest to get out. Be gentle with the fixings when undoing especially the nylon nut on the fronts as the screws fixed to the body can shear off.

I'd had the liners out before so time wise I'm not sure, probably couple of hours to strip down.

If I did happen to break off the front fixings can they be sourced & replaced?

I don't think they can as the screw would have been welded onto the body during build before paint.
I think someone has fitted self tappers to replace them but the steel there is quite thick.
