hi been looking a z3 and some nice jap imports at dealers , anyone had experience of buying one any queries on servicing etc , assume as all built in usa so long as type approved service etc would be same cheers ..

Had several grey imports but never a zed. The obvious like missing fog lights, lack of underseal and radios usually have much lower frequency so that would need changing. Service history is usually missing but cars the generally in great condition. They are graded when exported so if it's a 4-5 condition wise you should be fine.

Dump the radio and you are all set. Below is my data, actually for some reason it is designated as CN22 on my registration document.
If you can see the auction data, go for 4 ~ 5. Mine was 4 and it was as close to perfect as a 13 year old could have been (13 when I bought it).
My opinion natch..... Oh, and it has fog lamps and not a blemish underneath, as far as I know exactly the same as Euro cars.

hi thanks for that assume u can use uk code readers etc to service them etc , just read sometimes they can be incomaptible , hows the insurance ?, but like you they seem well looked after for their age and some nice combos of col that you dont get overhere

OBD for code readers is not country related, I got mine from China. Strange thing here is the automatic roadsters are right hand drive, manual roadsters and ALL coupes are LHD. No idea why that is.
Condition is usually good, no road salt used:thumbsup:

Did you convert the speedo ?
