Jamezee senior RIP

That would cost me about £65 to get to work and back for a week.

Worth it, though:D.

Just a saddo point. It was probably a Rolls Royce Meteor engine. They were a very similar spec to the Rolls Royce Merlin, but not approved for aircraft. I knew them when they were fitted in Centurion bridgelayers and were easy to get hold of. Merlins have always been like rocking horse poo.

@Jamezee 's dad wouldn't have cared. It would feel like being in an aircraft either way :woot:

It was a Lady Penelope lookalike if I remember right. Someone else as old as me will recall it I'm sure.

Tony.

Yes Tony, I'm as old as you and I remember John Dodd's creation very well. It was featured in all the mags at the time, especially 'Custom Car' that some will remember as featuring scantily clad young women draped across modified cars. Happy days....

Back to the original thread, I'm sorry for your loss jamezee. My dad also flew in Mosquitos and Beaufighters - they were a special breed....

Some of you may remember my Dad who accompanied me on a few of our days out zedding. Sad to say he passed away last week peacefully after 89 good years.

He especially liked the the aircraft related trips because he did his national service in the RAF with Mosquitos and lancs.

He loved my dedication to my zeddy and laughed at tales of our drives out.

This was taken at a trip to Newark air museum.

RIP Frank James love you loads x

Sorry to hear about your father! He reached a great age though and passed on peacefully - that’s important.

Very sorry to read this. Our condolences.
