@Dalek That’s great to read. I’ve been thinking about having a hive in my garden. How easy is it to set up and maintain? Should there be more than one?

It did and lasted for weeks :(
When I got stung by the bee, I was on holiday in Greece, and it stung me under the armpit, Alan had to flick the bee off and then pull the sting out , it was like a electric shock, the pain lasted for hours . ☹

Last year, when I was checking the hives, I accidentally dropped the hive roof. Angry bees or what!! 8 stings in about 5 seconds.

Double ouch ouch :(

Last time I got stung as I remember was when I was 17 riding my father's motorcycle (BSA golden flash 650)with only jeans and a t shirt on, one poxy little wasp went down my t shirt and didn't stop stinging me till I got my t shirt off. Didn't count stings over my abdomen and chest and didn't have anything to help the pain in the house except Asprin and I wouldn't take it. My sisters ran out getting a couple of doc leaves and making a paste to rub on, did it work I hear you say, well maybe it did but I really can't remember I was in such agony. Ended up in bath with added baking soda as she couldn't think of anything else, did that work I hear you say, probably not but I was willing to try anything even a length of rope happen there was one handy. Thank goodness it didn't get down my jeans.:wacky:

I tried to buy a bee from a pet shop, but the bloke in there said they didn’t sell them.

I was really annoyed as he had one in the window

Sorry ... must be the isolation

Seen a few drowsy huge bees out over recent days but it's quite a surprise to see you can get honey so early in the year.
Hope you get much more honey from your charges.
