.... to get the roof down :D

-7.5°C when I set off from Barnack, Stamford this morning. Took a while to heat up the back window to get the roof down though :nailbiting: 266 miles, most of which was glorious sun. Only dodgey bit was going past Ollerton (I blame @Grumps), very misty! The roads were perfect all the way home :D

Science bit: my phone had a fit and lost the sync to my sterio, turns out it was cold and came back to life when I put it in my pocket :wideyed:

800 miles of mostly BMW Lane driving to St Nicholas at Wade, Kent, and back via Barnack to pick up the Old Man, splendid
:scorecard:
Took the Old Man down to see his place of birth before he shuffles Off, not been back since September 1939. His mum was shipped out to the Emergency Maternity House, as were many, during the War. Now a couple of private houses so sadly unable to look inside, he's a happy man though.

I think you deserve a medal for being the most hard core, roof down zedder.
Good on ya for getting your Dad out in Bella as well, must have been great spending time with him whilst out in the zed.

Thanks Steve  A great couple of days was had, even if he did adopt sleep mode for most of the 6 hour round trip, bless.

Mad men and their machines. You need a hard top for that lovely Z. Glad your dad enjoyed his trip and glad his son did too.

Roy.;)
I think the Zed 3 looks great with a hard top Roy and have thought àbout it but dismissed it, I just don't see the point :D

Your a diamond mate you really are. Bet the old man had a great son/dad time even though he spent half of it snoozing! Still think your bloody barking taking your pride and joy out in the salt of doom.

Ooh and if you'd have called in the weather would have been much better for you. Just saying :D

Thanks Dave. Not a lot of choice really, the C-in-C has the TD4 for the school run etc just leaving the Silver Bullet (1.0 Clio on an 08 plate). A great little car but from here to Kent and Back, I'd die of old age ........ half way :arghh:

Andy the point is you can take it off, well us softies can get some use out of them, your just old school hard nut.=)). Me I hate the cold even left the hard top on for 3summers before I met this Z .org motley allweather crew.:wacky:

You have a point. Don't think anything French would have made that run.

We could take the hard top off that old blue thing if you like Roy:ymdevil:. Would be a pain trying to put it back mind . . . . . =))

Tony.

That'd be me out of my comfort zone Tony, only probs I'll have is if we get another summer like the last one.
It does have air con though and windows work ok. Miss the roadster but can't see me letting go of the coupe any time soon, anyway can allways hitch a ride in a roadster.

Roy.:bag:

There'd be no shortage of offers of a lift for you mate:thumbsup:

Tony.

I can enjoy the best of both at the moment. I've got the hard top on the silver zed and the black zed is topless. I was out in both zeds and the old merc last weekend, and hopefully this weekend too.

Good choices to have mate

Good effort Andy:thumbsup:, but it's as I would expect of you=)). Pleased to hear you had some good Dad/Son time, you need to make the most of it. Even if he was in sleep mode you can still enjoy being together. ;)

Yup. Dad's don't last forever mate.

I wish mine had lasted a few more years, :(then I could have taken him for a Zed drive:thumbsup:
Yup :( The old man pre and post military was a Forman sprayer so it was nice to get his seal of approval on the spray job and he called it a quality motor, which is high praise indeed especially as he doesn't like driving or being a passenger.
