Had a day being a volunteer Guard 2 on The Bure Valley Railway. Started at 8.30am prepping the set, (carriages), safety checks and getting all the kit checked present and correct. Time for a coffee and a bit of banter, then 3 return trips from Aylsham to Wroxham. We had 2 coach parties and quite a few handicapped folks, some in wheelchairs to look after. Over 400 customers, good for a Friday! Got home at 6pm. Had 40 winks... (please!). Then Chris cooked me a lovely fry -up. And here I am

Sense of humour by- pass operation postponed until tomorrow. X Rays revealed that it's very aggressive and unpredictable! Specialist team required, outcome uncertain!

Did enjoy the choo-choo story though. It must be very fulfilling to bring back memories to all those people.

It's just a great day out through beautiful countryside, especially if the sun shines like it did yesterday, and you have the option of a boat trip at the end of the line as well. The folks love watching the loco being turned around manually on the turntable, and with Thomas the tank engine stories being so popular the youngsters love it too. I can still remember steam engines on main lines, just!;)
