Christ..!! Is that the first Eurofighter ever to go down?
The Spanish Air Force have had 3 fall out of the sky, not sure about other partners. These are complex on a whole different level, in fact, unflyable without multiple computers

Looks like a misjudgement by the pilot. Got to be hard to spot the sea in overcast conditions. Immensely agile plane but gravity won. :(

Agreed, not the first and won't be the last either.

Nah, he just came out of the loop, if that's what it was, and went straight in the drink.
As AMcD pointed out, could have been a computer problem?

Could've been but could also have been not enough height at the top of the loop in order to pull out at the bottom. Don't forget these are just young lads and as gifted as they are they are fallible

I'd expect those to have triplicated majority voting computer systems. A single failure shouldn't lose an aircraft. Not going to trust them to a pc running windows XP surely?

It hit level and was trying to pull up but the water got to him first. About 100' too little altitude :(
Possibly what they tell you about cornering in a car - never look at something on the outside of a bend or you'll hit it.

all i can add is, it is harder to judge height over the sea than land especially under an overcast sky.

if it has, you'd turn it off if doing low level display, or maybe ground/ship attack. Last thing you want as you are at 100ft doing 500knts is a sodding alarm going off!

Indeed. Flying the likes of the Mach loop it would be terribly confusing having ground on three sides. The pilots are supposed to have the very best spacial and situational awareness. Am surprised he didn't pull the handle to punch out but pulling lots of g's wouldn't help.
