Pilot dead
The Spanish Air Force have had 3 fall out of the sky, not sure about other partners. These are complex on a whole different level, in fact, unflyable without multiple computersChrist..!! Is that the first Eurofighter ever to go down?
Agreed, not the first and won't be the last either.Looks like a misjudgement by the pilot. Got to be hard to spot the sea in overcast conditions. Immensely agile plane but gravity won.
Nah, he just came out of the loop, if that's what it was, and went straight in the drink.Looks like a misjudgement by the pilot.
Could've been but could also have been not enough height at the top of the loop in order to pull out at the bottom. Don't forget these are just young lads and as gifted as they are they are fallibleNah, he just came out of the loop, if that's what it was, and went straight in the drink.
As AMcD pointed out, could have been a computer problem?
I'd expect those to have triplicated majority voting computer systems. A single failure shouldn't lose an aircraft. Not going to trust them to a pc running windows XP surely?Nah, he just came out of the loop, if that's what it was, and went straight in the drink.

And the rest mate, a ZX Spectrum this ain'tI'd expect those to have triplicated majority voting computer systems. A single failure shouldn't lose an aircraft. Not going to trust them to a pc running windows XP surely?
Just had another watch, looked like he went in nose first to me.It hit level
doesn't matter in the end mateJust had another watch, looked like he went in nose first to me,
Fish baitdoesn't matter in the end mate
If you freeze it just before impact, you can see that it is level. Looks like the Shoreham Hunter but into water.Just had another watch, looked like he went in nose first to me.
Would the pilot not have had proximity warnings going off?it is harder to judge height over the sea than land
Indeed. Flying the likes of the Mach loop it would be terribly confusing having ground on three sides. The pilots are supposed to have the very best spacial and situational awareness. Am surprised he didn't pull the handle to punch out but pulling lots of g's wouldn't help.if it has, you'd turn it off if doing low level display, or maybe ground/ship attack. Last thing you want as you are at 100ft doing 500knts is a sodding alarm going off!
