No Tony. It has always been this way. The only difference is that with the flow and speed of information from internet and social media we are now aware of more cases.
Back in the day the village idiot was hidden well by his family and was protected by the community. Nowadays the village idiot has one million likes on facebook, so, dumbness is constantly popping up in front of us, therefore we presume that idiots have multiplied.

I must say that a thread referring to natural selection, village idiots and stupidity is vile when linked to the deaths of children aged 6, 8, 10 and 11.

I like a joke but this is not funny.

My original post was in no way meant to be funny Andy. If you look at the picture there appears to be several adults in the picture and yes they are the stupid ones encouraging kids to do that. It is up to adults to educate children about the dangers of frozen waters, like mine did to me.

Really feel sorry for this tragic loss.

But I also feel sad for idiots and I was referring to them. So I guess that you can understand my reply.
