Is the Z3 a "classic car" ?

If BMW discontinue the 'Z' Range as has been reported in the motoring press then the Z3 and Z4 will become classic cars. Each year a number are written off or broken for spares, so the numbers will slowly drop and the prices for the remaining will begin to rise, as will their claim to be classic Cars. The first Z3s are now 18 years old now, so it won't be that long. I believe the Z3 is already a classic as I'm sure many of you do, in any case it has quite a following as can be seen by the amount of forums dedicated to it.

No.

I think so but not every one does. ;)

Does anybody else get comments such as 'it can't be that old' and 'that's still made, is it not ?' I just love the drive and the sense of being at one with a great designed car. Big smiles all round with the top down and the wind through the car.

When you step back and look at the design overall, you will see the 'classic' lines that flow from the grill and return either side. If you also look lower down along the side, you could almost imagine running boards attached. So in my mind, it's not one thing that the makes the classic, it's the overall appeal, design and driving experience that sets it apart.

Absolutely agree, mind you I couldn't imagine Jim with running boards.:ymdevil:=))=))=))

It's lines like these that will always make the Z3 a design icon.
