John Holden and Andrew Winkle won a dramatic first Sure Sidecar TT of the week.

Ben and Tom Birchall had looked to be cruising to an impressive victory after claiming a new outright lap record of 116.798mph (19 minutes 22.928 seconds) on the second circuit of the three-lap race. However, when holding a 34-second lead, the Mansfield pair were forced to retire at Sulby Crossroads on the last lap.

So from that short snippet the sidecar action was exciting as well. Roll the clips.

I have some good snaps too taken on burst mode on my iPhone 6s. I have been surprised with the quality but my mate had his full on camera jobby and silly length lenses but the shots speak volumes of a quality SLR camera. I'll post some stills if anyone is still awake eventually.

That section at the Bungalow I had chosen for the day gives you a good stretch to see with some bends and he was certainly flying. Average speed smashed at just under 127mph and this was just the second practice. On the radio interview Mark reckons he's got more to give as well as the car so I hope the weather holds for the 10th. I'm on night so can't risk getting caught up the mountain again so probably last footage of Matk from me but at least got some.

He was secretly hoping to get 125 but was a little nervous, they've thrown a lot at this attempt as it will probably be the last one,I think it will take some beating :)

Cheers for thankyou Miller I might yet be naughty as its a great stretched to watch from and not as crowded from the boring straight of the grandstand but saying that on crossing the finish it took Mark a while to stop as the brakes literally were failing due to cooking them. He's in the Superbike timings and only needs another 7 seconds to beat the Superbike record.

He was saying that it's hard to keep up with the bikes because they are geared faster and so much of the lap is flat out ,he can only make up time in the corners I needed new underwear when I went around with him last year in the standard car

Well there is also the fact he has less room to play with, the radio interview with him was quite funny but gives respect to those bikers. I would have loved to go round a lap with him your one lucky fella even with brown coated underpants.
Mark is a really nice guy,and humble we've had a load of laughs ever,if you get a chance go over and say hi and that Miller sent you

Thanks for the pics, always wanted to take a ride in one of those sidecars but not on the IOM!! Even if the boys had a bad day they would have been just as friendly they are Canadian after all but glad things went well for them in practice.
