Just yesterday morning at the Carnage, sorry Carholme roundabout I came across another Moron, in a Merc. A class. I think my car must be the Starship Enterprise in disguise (cloaked) as I must have been f***ing invisible to the arsehole driving the A class. Watch this at 28 seconds, how I missed the idiot I will never know. Hopefully there's no sound on the video or you might want to turn it down.

Its an almost daily occurrence at some roundabouts.Need to have your wits about you every second.

I bet Andy and Grumpy will agree. Big though they are, freelancers also seem to be invisible.

Guess you were real lucky there @t-tony, you should see some of the twits we get round here. The ones on holiday down here are the worst, they know they will only be here for a short time and seem determined to annoy as many of the locals as they possibly can. You really need to be ultra alert these days.:mad::rage::eek:

i think the problem here is the double exit lane, it encourages tw**s, though this would have been done to ease congestion, but they just dont work, he obviously assumed you were leaving at the first exit (what is it they say about assuming).
 
I know what you mean @t-tony.Like you I sometimes think my car is invisible, but it may be other people just don't know how to drive. Driving to Zedfest the other week there were 3 incidents.
Two involve people on roundabouts and a total disregard for lane disciple, needing evasive action by me. The other was a lady driver pulled out from being parked with two wheels on the footpath, in a 40mph zone, about 5 yards in front of me. No use of indicators at all. I rarely sound the horn on my car, but she got the full 10 second blast.
We all make mistakes from time to time but I see driving which shows a basic lack of understanding of the rules of the road and courtesy far to often.
So, what to do about it? Now I often drive with dipped headlights on when in traffic to make my car more visible and odopt a more defensive style where I expect other drivers to be idiots. I am thinking of fitting LED DRLs to add to my protection.
 
i dont think its a case of just not seeing you, people have become too comfortable in the little bubbles, the attitude of - its alright, the insurance will sort it out, this is not helped by the introduction of company cars, im not saying everyone who drives a company vehicle think like this but some certainly do. If you where to ask most suited company car owners what kind of oil they should use in there company car and where it goes they wouldn't have a clue so how can they care about there car, its not just company cars as tony has found out looking at other peoples tyres is a real eye opener, but you can see what im trying to get at here. some people seem to have somehow forgotten what driving is all about, another member hit the nail on the head and pointed out that driving has become a necessity and will inevitably get worse.

rant over, sorry i am up early decorating and its really annoying me now, why cant someone invent a paint that i can apply then at a later date change the colour by just turning a knob. ummm i will give this idea more though while drinking wine later today.
 
We often feel that all our cars have been sprayed with a cloak of invisibility. Just this morning coming through Wisbech on way home in Richard's company car someone pulled out of a parking space and hit the door on passenger side, and damaged the car all the way to the back wing. She had been trying to get out of the space for a while and thought she saw a gap in traffic but unfortunately we were in it. Luckily nobody was hurt but a bit scary.

Yes it's quite possible that we do all make mistakes from time to time, but the basic problem on the roads today is that people just do not give a fu**k, they seem lost in their own little worlds.

What do people think to this? Using a mobile phone, hands free of course, means that attention to driving is reduced and more mistakes are made. This is certainly true in my case, I recognise it in myself and don't use the phone in heavy traffic.

Likewise attempting to programme satnat whilst driving is, in my view, as distracting as using a phone hands-on.

Anybody else noticed technology affecting their driving performance or that of other drivers?
