Great spreadsheet Pingu! The £20k is more a reflection of you meticulous record-keeping and habit of spending on extras tho:whistle:

I stripped out everything but purchase price, MOT+VED and essential maintenance and it's a much more reasonable £9.5k. Not bad at all. Did you really buy it for £6k?! Wow.

Spreadsheet smedsheet. Pah. Where's the column for "smiles per gallon"? And the one for "going up the Llanberis pass on a quiet day and listening to that six-cylinder scream"? Makes me wish I was up on the side of a hill hearing it go by.;)

Spreadsheets and Z3s are both beautiful things. I make a living out of one and have a lot of fun with the other :)

Yes, but which is which.....
I spent a fair chunk of my career doing costing spreadsheets for a whole variety of engineering and manufacturing related stuff. Because of that, I've never really had the inclination to do them for my hobby cars. My wife reckons if I hadn't spent (wasted in her view...) so much on cars over the years, we'd be retired and living in Barbados by now. She may well be right, but I'm sure we'd be sick of the rum and sunshine.....:D

I have lived in my current house for 35 years and if I did a similar costing exercise for that including all the running costs such as food and every penny spent I have probably lost on that too!
