Greetings from the States! I been a lurker on this forum since I purchased my 1998 Z3 1.9L 5MT (Atlantic Blue+Beige+Wood Trimmings) back in January of this year. She was initially delivered to Dallas, Texas back in 1998 and left for New York for most of the years since 2002. I acquired this Z3 from a used car dealer in Chicago, Illinois and had them ship this Z3 back to Dallas, Texas. Despite having 8 prior owners, the Z3 was 99% (except the tires!) original with 71,000 miles on the odometer.
After spending a good amount of money (purchase, parts, & labor), well beyond the value of a Z3 1.9L (~$16,000 USD), I finally have her at the stage she drives like a tight ship. I mainly purchased OE parts to get close to the original feel of the Z3 (except for a lightweight flywheel). Today, I had a chance to briefly drive her at the finished state and it was 1990's all over again. This brought me back memories of the Japanese 90's cars I've owned over the years and enjoyed.
I do look forward reading this forums for more Z series roadsters. I'm now looking at early 2.5i Z4's (I have to get this approved with the Ms. first!)
