So I joined the forum initially because I have a problem with my vehicle and I am seeking advise. I was driving my car in December and it started juddering and cutting out, this became worse and I limped it home. It has started illuminating engine management lights
I later took it to my local garage they diagnosed the vehicle, changed the mass airflow sensor and idle control valve, cleared the faults and sent me on my way.
Initially the car drove better although felt underpowered, then when accelerating hard it began shuddering at high revs ( the car is an automatic), which seemed to clear and driving resumed, but each time I accelerated aggresively the car would shudder like a spark plug or coil was breaking down.
I then took the car to a tuning specialist who has diagnosed the vehicleand made the following comments/observations:
Ok so its not a misfire it is a throttle and fuel cut. The car is seeing o2 sensor faults which will not help with the running and should be addressed but the main cause of the hesitation and stutter at the higher rpms is throttle/fuel cut at gear change due to no or incorrect road speed data seen by the engine ecu.
He then suggested as he is not a BMW specialist that I should take the car elsewhere as he didn't want to run up a bill chasing down the problem.
Any advise would be welcome
