I am a thrilled owner of my first BMW. . a white 2001 Z3 3.0i manual with premium package.
Recently my wife (we are newly retired) suggested that we do not really need two "practical" cars, so maybe we should, ya know, think of something fun??? It didn't take much more to get me shopping.
I previously owned a 72 MG midget (BC) but was always leery of driving it too far from my garage (I spent many hours tuning, fixing, tuning, tuning), because, ya never know..
My son is a Miata fan (I helped him work on his old beater many times), so I considered many of those, as well as a Redline Sky and another MG.
Then I found this Z3 in GREAT shape at a used German Car Dealership while visiting a friend out of town. Within the first 1/2 mile of the test drive, I was sold. I have never driven such a fun, solid car!! WOW.
71k on the odometer. The previous owner spent $3k replacing the water pump and various other issues typical of a car of this vintage/miles.
First wrench job is to repair the slack in the fore/aft movement of the seats. Not much else that I can see as an immediate need right now.
