Hi,
Following on from previous suggestions.
I would get some de-greaser spray/brake cleaner spray & clean off all the contamination, including the pipework that appears oily, then play a waiting game for a few days to see what happens.
However, the offer still stands if you want a comparison check with mine.
I am in Bearsden.

Best wishes,
Andy.

as potentially the leak already fixed clean it up with brake cleaner and then check a few days later if still leaking you will need to sort that joint out

That's a great help Steve! Thank you very much. Do you think then that the clip/ clamp has just not been strong enough then and has loosened allowing a little power steering fluid out at a time? And if so by sorting the joint do you mean replacing the jubilee clip (providing the hoses aren't split etc)?

Hi, Hope you don't mind me resurrecting this one (which hopefully you will have sorted by now) but I took mine out of storage this year and the power steering was very heavy. Thinking it was either the pump or the rack itself on the way out, I started to investigate and eventually found it was the steering column lower bearing partially seized. You can lubricate it where it comes out through the bulkhead by spraying grease into the bearing just above the UJ that connects to the rack, which partially fixed mine. I found the another better way to do it is from the inside of the car - remove the trim imeadiatley below the steering wheel and you will see a steel tube that the column shaft travels in. I drilled a small hole in the outer tube and sprayed an aerosol grease used for bike chains into the hole and the grease will run down into the bearing. I then jacked the front wheels up and repeatedly moved the wheels from lock to lock - the steering soon freed up and is now a pleasure to drive where before it was a pain. Don't be tempted to use WD40 - as I find this eventually dries out and becomes tacky.
