So that shop where I went to get my wheels done has a bunch of idiots working at it. There were indeed plastic adapter rings on the wheel hubs that I found today while taking the wheels off to get measurements for hub-centric spacers. I'm thankful I no longer need them. I asked the mechanic specifically if he checked for adapter rings! All they had to do was wipe some grease off the hub and he would have seen them.
