Il keep an eye on it. As of now when I do normal driving (high revs) haha as I go I can see the temp gauge go down sometimes almost to the 1/4 line, until of course when I'm idling it goes back up to ambient but the water issue does sound bad, but il keep an eye on it. And @Zeti there really isn't a kit but what I did was get spectre flex intake tubing, a MAF converter piece which I used to mount the flex tube to the oem airbox and a high flow spectre filter. Works just as good or better as a k&n CAI, keeps it cooler then fogging and only cost me like 60 bucks.

It should not affect the water temp of the car? You may have a faulty thermostat.

Does it rev to redline now without the hesitation at 4k revs?

+1 sounds like a duff thermostat to me, needle should stay bang in the middle.

Cheers

I may be saying something wrong about the thermostat. And there is no hesitation whatsoever past 4k

I would say job done then Paul, it is all about smoothing the drive out, allowing it to breathe, and not extra power,

Can I join the massive?
You can rent mine off me, then you could be an honorary member, but I would need to drive yours while you have got mine though!

All in all though you will not notice much in the power stakes, probably just that the M44, is quicker off the mark, other than that they are the same, vroom, vroom :coolsteer)

Not sure if I can handle the raw power of the 1.9 :ymdevil:

@paul pearcey I have seen somewhere a tutorial regarding the replacement of the OEM filter with a sport filter: the box goes out and you adapt the air sensor on a part which is mounted after /or on the MAF converter part and finally the sport filter stays relaxed in a lot of room and no danger of moisture. You just need the part with thread / connection for the air sensor and get rid of the OEM box. I struggle to remember the link:nailbiting: .......it will be the best way and you keep also the fog lights.
Regarding the thermostat: if it stays to 1/4 it's not so good; it's stuck open and must be replaced. I have the same problem since few months but I didn't found yet a trusty provider, so I' m keep looking for the winter time.
In our case , M44 Massive, we are "lucky": when the thermostat get stuck it's stays open and sometimes coolant temperature get too low; usually (for most cars) a faulty thermostat get stuck closed and you find out in a very sad way: the coolant is boiling and the gasket get burned and some other bad things follow........if you don/'t stop immediately!

@Zeti I think the reason why I thought the water temp keeps going low, and the only time I see the temp drop a little is when I'm driving, but it never passes the middle, and when I'm in idle it stays spot on. I'm heading for a little road trip is tho thermostat thing going to be a problem?

Hi Paul,

The temp should rise from cold to the centre position and not move even under driving, this would suggest that you may have a problem with the thermostat, a cold running engine could cause uneven temps within the engine, which could cause issues long term so best to get it looked at, even just for piece of mind

So for a little road trip it will not be a problem, but as Zedonist says, it's something that you keep on the "To do list", for the future!
Enjoy the week end!
