Hey all, just bought a 1997 Z3 1.9l Manual transmission. Fun car, but now comes the fixings. If anyone can link me to where to jump to, that would be great.
1. Drivers side headlight bottom tabs are broken. Is there a replacement/fix kit for the tabs?
2. Just went to get inspected and have a P0600 code. But car runs and drives fine, no noticeable issues.
3. Reverse lights are out. Both of them. Bulbs are good, all other lights work.
4. Hood release only works when 1 person is holding the lever and another is pulling up on the hood...
If someone could help me by dropping some links to the areas I should read up on that would be great! Thanks

Reversing lights likely to be the ad it h on the gearbox. Disconnect the switch and bridge the terminals in the connector and turn the ignition on and see if the the lights are on. If they are the switch is faulty.
Bonnet issue. Once you have the bonnet open, get two nrw cables and replace them before they break as they surely will. While doing this either replace both catches (apparently they are not expensive) or strip and lubricate the original.ones.
Headlamp requires either replacement or make your own repair brackets, they are not available to buy.
Error code. Is that a problem where you are regarding the Inspection?

P0600 OBD-II Trouble Code: Serial Communication Link ...
https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p0600-obd-ii-trouble-code-serial...
The P0600 code is a diagnostic trouble code that points to a malfunction in the communication link of the ECU. This code may be seen with a wide variety of other codes in addition to ABS and traction control system codes. What the P0600 code means P0600 means that the ECU has lost the connection with one of its many controllers more than once.

Tony.

ps. Welcome from me near Lincoln UK.

Hi and welcome to the forum from Bognor Regis. :welcome:

In regard to your questions
1 it may require a new headlight as the tabs are part of the headlight casing. Possibly one of our breakers might have one ??

2, may be an old code. Best to clear the fault code and see if it comes back. Will need a code reader to do it . May be a forum member local to you could help.

3 possibly the switch, or may be a problem with the boot wiring loom. Check for any visible damage to the loom

4 there are two cables, the one from handle to the first bonnet catch then another short one that links the two catches. Cable stretched?? Or loose.

edit......took me so long to type this I didn’t see Tony had already answered =))
