Hi all,

I bought the car and the interior light worked, a few weeks later it stopped. The fuse is fine and I've changed the bulb over. What else could cause it?

Make sure the switch for the bulb is in the right position [try them all] - and double check that fuse! :)

Don't know which year/model you have but the wiring diagram can be found here under Interior light 6330.3 http://wedophones.com/Manuals/BMW/1998 BMW Z3 - M Roadster Electrical Troubleshooting Manual.pdf

The selector switch is 3 position i.e manual (upper depressed), off in central neutral position, or auto (lower position depressed).
In auto the light will illuminate if either door is opened or central locking is deactivated using fob (or at least that's how mine works).
When you exit the car and the doors are closed the light will stay on until central locking is activated or a 15? min time out.

Does it work in manual position?

Hi all, sorry for the late reply. Yes central locking works. I will give it a shot at switching bulbs round. I've tried all three toggles on the switch and still doesn't work.

Probably need to get voltmeter on bulb contacts and then switch to see if you are getting any voltage there. The live to the switch should be permanent Hot for manual operation.
