Interesting Z3

I wonder how you would insure it to be honest.

Tony.

Very true Pauline.

Apart from having a tuned engine in it it really does not seem any different IMO, you cannot call it an Alpina because they did not wave their magic wand on the Z3.

Does nothing for me!! Not a fan!! Sorry

I agree Brian but it has the suspension changed and would they not be interested in the engine performance upgrade. I'm not saying that you couldn't insure it, only that would likely be more expensive than the 2.8 that it used to be?

I would insure it at work under our scheme we like most mods :D

Not disagreeing with that Stace, only wondering how much it would cost is all.:) With it not being what it was?

Tony.

Lots of money spent on this one :p
Someone will get a great Z ;)

Erm a wolf in sheep's clothing? It has very little in the way extra trim. Hyping it up saying full leather and metallic paint were expensive options. It's just the same as mine and that steering wheel is awful. You'd have thought he'd have put the sports seats in at least. Insurance wise you wouldn't struggle although you may pay a bit more for obvious reasons. It's not for me at that money. I'd rather buy a mint 3.0. Just my humble opinion of course! ;)

Cool car but only special because of the engine. Wont be massively different from the 3.0

Not sure on that drifting wheel though. Makes me think it may of been used for something else.

I wonder what condition the rear diff hangar is in ? Starting to tear I bet.

Looks as if the wheel has no airbag so how can that be driven, I thought if it was fitted as standard it had to be in place come test time unless the owner keeps putting the original wheel back on for testing.

I read on other BMW forums that some body wants to put a bigger engine into car say 2.8 into 318 and then get all grumpy when somebody else asks what brake and suspension mods are to be done first.

I got interested and read the article because of the hype. Am I the only one that thinks there is really nothing special about the car? Really, someone just spent a lot of money on the engine and it only has 250 Hp. That's a lot better than my 2.2 but a ///M gets 340. Actually, in my opinion the car should have less value because of the mods as who knows how many issues may arise and getting parts etc will be required. Not criticizing, just say'in.

I'm sure you could get the same BHP from doing the manifold swap and cams as I have on mine. Seems a strange route to go down

It's overpriced and modded (not keen on modded cars)

Just my opinion
