Hi All,

Need some recommendations for insurers as Manning's have put my policy up by £50 this year which is quite a bit when last year I only paid £217

Can anyone suggest a good insurer for a modified Z3?
 
I went with APlan Thatcham branch. Their mainstream branch I have also just gone with my daily as they beat both my renewal a comparison website quote. Only by £15 but I’ll take it.

Worth giving them a try. I listed my mods (coilovers, steels, custom exhaust and all they did was make a note. I don’t have agreed market value right now but look to negotiate that now the Kobra is built.
 
Another vote for A-Plan. They were the most competitive for the cover being offered and very accommodating, e.g. they waived a requirement for me to park off-road. They also seemed very knowledgeable which was reassuring.

It was also nice to speak to a real person for a change instead of clicking through the bloody Meerket
 
Things may have changed with A-plan but last time i looked their policy didn't cover the convertible roof so i gave it a miss and bought a policy from LVE which included conv roof cover (good price too)

Cheers for the heads up! Just checked my policy documents and couldn't see any exclusions re: the convertible roof (thank god!) Prob worth asking about specifically though if people are considering them. I know they have a range of policies from different underwriters that would cover a Z3. Because of my postcode (akin to Beirut apparently) I was referred to a team that specialises in BMW.

Try Admiral - I paid £160 approx. on a 2-car policy with 9 years NCB. I have been with them for a while. No breakdown cover though. 2.8 Zed.
