Insurance time again.

Yep, 9 years although I have 40 years! The thing to remember about insurance is that the companies share information and keep it . They use it when it suits them.

I've got over 20 years NCB on my main car; some six years NCB on my Spitfire, and going to be a year on my Z this October. Every renewal is the same: insurance company increases the premium, so I call them and get the premium "adjusted" to the same as the previous year, or I move somewhere else with a better quote.

Also, when I got insurance for my Z last year I mistakenly added the full NCB during the quoting, realised the mistake, then quoted again without NCB. No difference at all to my premiums… Just seem to be a gimmick!

It's much the same when you own up to your "modifications" too. Once you have listed your mods it doesn't matter, within reason, what you've done they charge a set fee.

Tony.

Insurances companies do seem odd. My grand daughter just has her first car an Audi A1. 1 litre engine 3 years old. Her mums insurance company took a bit of persuading to give a fair premium despite her being named on her mums policy for 4 years driving CooperS verts She is 22 left uni after her Masters

Over the years I have used several different insurance providers, what you normally find is that if you choose the likes of Tesco, Saga, Direct line you get a cheaper quote for your Z but they do not offer agreed value, however you build up a no claims discount.

To get an agreed value policy you need to go to a specialist classic car policy provider and submit several photo's like Chris Knot, A Flux, Classic line etc,
I am insured with Classic line for the Z3 2.2 sport with an agreed value of £8,000 cost £197 (renewed yesterday), the Z4 Coupe I am with Chris Knott agreed value £17,000, cost £359.

It's a really confusing situation I would have preferred to have both cars with one provider, but Classic line could not compete for the Z4 and Chris Knott were a mile out for the Z3??

Well it's that time of year again for my Z4, currently with A Flux on an agreed value. Just wondered who other old codgers like me are insured with on similar cars/cover.
Mines a 2.2i , fully comp, full ncb, legal protection.

If you haven't tried us yet, you are very welcome to give our team a call on 01455 639 000 for a quote. Be sure to mention that you are a member of zroadster.org too.

My wife's Z4 last year was £302,
This years renewal price £762.. How can they even suggest it?

Probably for the people you see on Money Supermarket saying "I saved £1000's on my such and such".
Serves them right for being happy to pay a stupid amount over an over again.

Renewed at £264 with another company.

Our cars insurance is due next week 🌞
We thought that because of what happened to Alan our insurance would be sky high 😊
With the same company last year it was £100 pounds more 👍
But Alan shopped around and it’s now cheaper than last year 👍
Although Alan’s license has been revoked, we still wanted his car insured 🙁
As I use his car when I’ve got our granddaughter 🙂
