Got my renewal today my 2000 2.8 has gone from £91 to £164/yr on my LV multi car policy. What are others paying?

Just got my renewal through down by £10 from Last year, next years premium 5k milage £176
Z4 2.5 2003

My renewal quote was £242.69 from Churchill, last year £188.41. Checked on comparison site, £181.72 for a year (from Churchill). Spoke to Churchill, they agreed renewal at the £181.72!! There is some sharp practise going on (many just pay the renewal fee). No loyalty behaviours, defo worth shopping around. :(

Always run your details through the comparison sites do not just renew when it arrives and do not select auto renew when you buy a policy. Just been through a Caravan renewal with Adrian Flux renewal with was £60 more than last year, phoned after I got a comparison and told them I could get same cover for only £10 more than last year. Low and behold after a short hold they came back with the price I paid them last year. Insurance companies try it on all the time. I did renew on this occasion but if I had time I would have gone elsewhere and takeny business elsewhere, just think it's downright dishonest how the operate.

Also compare the comparison sites, I saved £200 across the board comparing go compare against the Merkat.

I’ve looked on a couple of comparison sites but they come up with similar to my LV quote. I guess insurance companies have jumped on the same bandwagon as all other retailers and hiked up prices because they can!
I have an older classic on classic insurance but my Z is on “normal” insurance to keep up my no claims bonus. Are others on classic or non classic?

Mines on a classic, I pay just over £100, although all the companies on go compare want at least 200 more, hence my post.
I think the big hikes are across the board :(

Such a useful post Paul!

But you forgot to mention who you are insured with!

£369 as a 'tester' from my usual company, they'll drop to a lower amount if I phone them. (My main car, not a classic policy)
One of the online quotations was over £2400...

Damn, I got a new policy with you just over a week ago and didn't realise to mention zroadster incase you gave any discount. All it states on the website is are you a member of a 'paid' carclub :banghead:

If you're feeling generous and would like to give me anything back then please let me know

£270 for my 1.9 last year, this year renewal is £760, no claims or offences etc, Adrian Flux, reckon its my age as over the hill.

Just got a quote of £300 as my main car with additional named driver. That's cheaper than the diesel Mondeo I had before, and have just sold.

With Autonet (Markerstudy) this year was £105 last year £111, didn't check anywhere else at that price, with 2 drivers.
For a few pounds more they will offer a guaranteed payout but need a written report of condition from a specialist and time against me didnt do it.
That is a limited mileage (4000) and use of another car though, they also do not take NCB into account but I can use that on another car to maintain it.
Having said all that, gave a friend the number and they quoted £123 to start with but had to call back and then it went up to £240........
So dont know what to say really.
