Don’t know Paul it was his insurance that rang me only dealing with them not going through mine

It really grips my sh*t when people make injury claims when there is clearly nothing wrong with them.
After a very minor supermarket car park bump of my own, at which I was at fault, I got a call from my insurance stating the other driver was claiming for injuries. I'd reversed 2 feet back as she was passing the end of the space I was emerging from. Hit her rear nearside door. She certainly hadn't injured her jaw, the way she ripped into me!
Anyway I told the insurance there was no way was she injured and that I was willing to stand up in court to that effect. Never heard anything else about it, so I'm guessing they just paid out.
At work we called it Compensationitis!
Disgusting how much NHS time, both ambulance and hospital, it takes up. People's eyes start spinning like fruit machines at the slightest nudge.
And with the greatest of respect to @yocky z3 2.0 , maybe the photos don't do it justice, but there's no way on this earth, that damage is sufficient for anyone to be injured.

Sorry Yocky but it amazes me how body repairers get away milking it for what they can. How can a minor bump that just bends a bumper bracket and makes a small chink in the plastic turn into a new headlight, bumper etc running into thousands. A smart repair would probably have been all that was required.

Be very careful and clear about who you are actually speaking to. It would be fairly extraordinary for the other side's insurance to ring you about claiming compensation. More likely an accident management company or similar. Do it properly through your insurers.
Adrian the carbon fibre splitter that he broke are £880 pounds alone the headlight was marked £500 the car is three and a half years old not having it bodged and filled was perfect before he hit it comes to £2000 in parts the rest is labour and vat
It was an accident claimes firm that rang me have cancelled all communication with any third party just dealing with Hastings only
When mine got bumped on the corner of the bumper it could have easily been sorted with a smart repair and new sidelight, £250 at most. I took it to an approved BMW insurance repair centre for a quote. Came in at over £1400, they wanted to remove and replace the headlights, front grill, bonnet grills, both wheel arch liners, remove and replace the foglights and even replace the bonnet badge. They also quoted that it needed a road test which is chargeable to the insurance company. Maybe insurance prices are so high due to insurance repair centres ripping off the insurance companies. Fair enough for a newer car like Yockys but when they give over inflated quotes for older cars like mine they will easily write them off when it may be a simple repair. But if it was my car going for an insurance repair I would want it done properly by an approved BMW bodyshop or even BMW themselves regardless of cost especially if the insurance are paying.
