Well here we go again, the insurance on the zed runs out in a couple of weeks so I suppose I'll have to go through the usual trawl round companies to find a new policy. I can guarantee that my existing insurer will send me a renewal quote which has leapt up for no apparent reason, as they all do. I wouldn't mind so much, but I must be a very good customer/risk. No accidents for almost 50 years, never had any convictions, not even a speeding ticket.
If any fellow members have recently taken out insurance and got a very good deal please let me know.

Footman James, 3 x modernish classics plus the daily. Unlimited mileage, agreed valuation certificates with no photos, salvage retention, all un-garaged. £480. One is stored elsewhere too. Only went up £40 2nd year instead of the usual hike.
Problem is people our age are classed as doddery old gits no matter how many zillion accident free miles!

If you want to pay all in one go I've used manning UK .

My renewal this year was £220 with all mods declared .

However I've just switched admiral with their multicar policy and the zed I'd about £300 but it's brought our overall cost down as we saved £200 on the wife's 1 series

Admiral were also excellent on the phone

Currently paying £141 on the Z3 but that's a 1k limit and as its not going anywhere at present its a good deal for them.

£190 full business insurance £200 excess but only 6000 miles used no claims I have full from my other car also insured with them both fully comp I live in south cumbria from Hastings direct no accidents no convictions point etc for at least 20 years , not bad for a 2.8 !

Just tried Footman James @Synclare, but they said they wouldn't insure my zed unless I was a 'paid member' of a club, eg ; BMW Owner's Club. So I assume you're a member, maybe it's worth joining.

Thanks for the replies, but only @Synclare mentions 'agreed value' . Can I assume, therefore, that the other companies mentioned do not consider an 'agreed value', but simply state 'market value' ?

I am a member of a club applicable to one of my other cars, not the zed. No trouble. Business use also. They provided agreed value certificates for all cars also.

General accident, £160, 2 years no claims, limited to 3k miles, I'm 42 and it's garaged, fully comp, thought that was good, found it on compare the meerkat!

I tried footman James wouldn't entertain me because i didn't have a garage! BMW car club have their own insurance which some have found very favourable or as stated discounts available for car club members. Have a natter Ken Sunday re membership.
