Can anyone give me answers please
Put the code reader on my newly acquired 3.0 because dash light are sometimes on and sometimes not which are for brake fluid (which is full) ABS, EML, engine shape light. We think that some of the codes errors are old and have been deleted but the engine one remains but car seems to run very well.
The code reader came up with 6 codes at the start of search ie:18 (engine shape), 83KW, 244, 211, 209, 39,all codes deleted but engine shape still on. I have got to use car today so will see what comes up but how do you find out what each code is ?as this is all new to me and a nephew has been a great help so far.
In anticipation Geoff

As yours is a 3.0 it uses the MS43 module so if you look at the listings on the link and the number you have listed it should explain the number .

18 is the exhaust cam sensor.

My my nephew has removed all lights and codes and after 10/12 miles they have stayed off. On checking old mots some light tie in with them and presume errors not deleted so will wait and see, but thanks for your info

It's perfectly reasonable to clear the codes down in the first instance. Old codes that have been fixed can linger. So a fresh start is a good idea. Keeping a record of what was there - I usually take a photo with my phone.

But when they then come back there is definitely something that needs looking into.

Your doing it right as Mr Scalex says, see what codes have come back, sounds like Camshaft and Crankshaft sensor issues.
If the codes point to these sensorsb fit new ones, use oem parts don't use cheap pattern parts they seldom last long.
