Leave the car in the same place for a week is usually fine. Or has been for the last five years....until today when I start up what sounds like a Merlin engine. Some thieving toe rag has had the car up and the cat and half the pipe away - in the middle of a well-lit public car park.

So, drawing on the endlessly valuable advice/support from the Z community, who has (inevitably) had the same experience and where did they get the replacement parts from, including the cat? OR - has somebody got a decent used one or complete system? 1998 2.8 manual. I'm near Telford and will travel. Anything to avoid talking to my insurers who will arrange a BMW-size estimate which in the current climate will likely mean a write-off.

Which version of the 2.8 do you have the tu or non tu engine as the exhaust totally different the tu has twin cat and 4 lambda non tu engine 1 cat 1 lambda.

Unless the thieving scum are caught in the act of stealing it, it would take some proving.

I think that there are one or two being broken on our Facebook page but cant remember engine size, but worth a look
