I've owned a 71 MGB for 30 years and decided on something different. Nearby dealership had this Z3 M Roadster for sale at a reasonable price and really low miles.
I'm retired from Deere & Co. and enjoy the DIY stuff whenever I can
Looking forward to finding a owner's club here in S Carolina

Hi Jon, welcome from me near Lincoln, UK. We have a home in Kissimmee, Fl. and we’re coming over in a couple of weeks. @FRANKE is driving down from New Jersey in his Z3MR and I believe he is stopping in S.Carolina on his way back home, maybe near you? Don’t know if there’s a local (to you) owners club but there are quite a few members in that general area of the US, however .org is mainly UK based.

Tony.

Welcome to the Forum, you have arrived at the best place for all Z knowledge worldwide.
Over the years I have had a Morgan 4/4 4 seater, a MGB GT and then a 1.8 Z3. Once the Z3 was up to the standard I wanted I added a 2.5 Z4 and set about getting that up to the standard I wanted. Both are relatively easy to work on its just a bit of a technical leap to all the sensors fitted to Z's comming from the older cars you have owned. Best to add a code reading scanner to your toolbox you will need it sooner or later when you get some dash lights lit up. Can recommend the Creator 310+ or their latest version Creator 410+ as a cost effective scanner, its easy to use and can cope with most of the fault codes you might encounter. Creator scanners on ebay and Amazon circa £50. I also run diagnostics on a Laptop, BMW INPA, BMW Scanner 1.4 and some other BMW software that allows coding options on the cars, bit more technical than a simple scanner but plenty of info on forums and Youtube if you want to go down the Laptop route. Just bear in mind that you would need a 20pin to 16pin OBD2 cable changer to plug scanners in to the under hood diagnostic socket to read all modules fitted to your car, if the car also has a 16pin OBD2 socket under the steering wheel that will only read the engine module with a scanner. The cable is available on ebay as is the software such as INPA and BMW Scanner 1.4 for resonable costs.
