Ignition barrel

Hi all, hope this is the right place to post this.
Currently looking at a 1997 1.9 that has an issue with the key / ignition barrel.
apparently you need to wiggle the key in the ignition to start it, seller had it checked by a key bloke who said the barrel is fine and it’s the key that needs redone suggested at BMW. I’ve seen things on here about the spinning ignition barrel but not sure if it’s that. Does anyone have an idea if it likely is the key or could be a new barrel? Haven’t been able to fine any barrels for sale anywhere for a rough price either. Thanks in advance

Check out part no.3 in the diagram, could be this if the lock barrel is ok. If you need any parts ask our resident breakers if they have one.

Take bottom cowl off and you will see it for access
