@DaveP The lovely @Tim beard built his own and did all the paint work
I highly recommend Tim at AutoAid he has done a lot of paint work on my Panther and one day will have Sunny for a full respray :D
@Dino D has had his Z3 fully resprayed with Tim as well
Agreed. Tim’s work looks to be top drawer :)

I have admired Tim’s work from a distance. Really like the red Kobra with black stripe. The rear lights were very interesting too. I’m going boring landie lights to keep costs and mtce down. Those wheels do set it off also. Im leaning toward (banded maybe) steels that look a bit like old Dunlops but not at £1k for 4 of them without the tyres.

Too many Cobras are re-sale blue with white stripe for my liking. :)

I like the 250swb too but been wanting a Cobra looky-likely for 25+ years. I will finally get something of that order soon be it at the expense of a poor old Zed.

Next couple of weeks I’m helping to build another one. Then onto mine. excited ? Hell yeah

Dave
You go for it mate it’s fun to do , and even better when you get it right

Looks fabulous and IMO is more impressive then the 250 kit
There can't be many Z kits that look any better than that car Sean. You not fancy having a go at such a car, I'm sure you could make one just as nice as Tim's. All the red and black is awesome and those wheels, the icing on the cake.

Tony.

ps. Wish I could afford that Z4/Z8 kit.:(

Maybe one day mate, the Z8 kit is only about £3.5k but the projection lights are at least another £1k

When I first saw this I thought it was really tacky and a bit lame. But then I saw what they look like when fully painted etc, and begrudgingly I have to admit they look pretty cool. Damn. Might have to get another just to have a play. Time to get saving!
I wasn’t totally convinced as in the the front end can look odd to my eye but when it’s done well, in the flesh and on the move it’s a beautiful thing. Proper exotic looking nothing like a Z3. The rear is so sleek and wide. But it has to be done properly to really work.

It’s worth it I think if you have the time/skill/ cash or own a body shop! Definitely have a look at a ‘proper’ one likes Tims to see what a difference the details make.

A Z3 can easily take a V8 too so you can go the full hog later on.. I’d love a Dax Cobra kit but seeing how impractical and uncomfortable they are, a V8 Z3 conversion is very interesting by comparison and sure to be plenty of a handful enough whilst a bit safer when you go through the hedge...
